Principal’s Summary:

October at Magma Ranch was a month full of parent involved programs and events. We started the month with our annual cookie dough fundraiser. The proceeds of the fundraiser will go to Student Council to use for grade level trips and scholarships. We were happy to see our ELL students and their parents for our first ELL Night. Families enjoyed a pizza dinner and learned about reading activities they could do at home with their students. We had the best attended Fall Festival to-date. With activities like the Haunted Hallway, Pumpkin Bowling, and the Hillbilly Hayride, we earned over $3,000 in cash and boxtops for student trips.

We finished our month with even more events to include the parents in our endeavors to educate our students. We had our 1st Semester NJHS Induction Ceremony on Monday, October 26. Our students held their ceremony in the evening for the first time. It was special and exciting for our new inductees. We completed our month with the annual Fall Costume Parade. We allowed our parents to participate by cheering for their children during the parade. They were then invited to participate in their child's classroom Fall Holiday Party.

Involving parents is important to the teachers as well as the administration here at Magma Ranch, and we will continue to include them as often as possible.
