YWCA Honors Patricia Hemingway Hall, President and Chief Executive Officer of Health Care Service Corporation, at 39th Annual Leader Luncheon

Chicago, IL (October 1, 2011) - YWCA Metropolitan Chicago is proud to announce that Patricia Hemingway Hall will receive the 2011 Outstanding Leader Business Award at the annual Leader Luncheon taking place Thursday, October 13, 2011. Leader Luncheon is one of Chicago’s most prestigious salutes to women leaders and the YWCA’s largest annual fundraiser. Each year, the YWCA honors a select group of outstanding leaders, who, through their passion, work, determination and community involvement, provide positive examples and inspiration to the women of Chicago.

Hemingway Hall is the president and chief executive officer of Health Care Service Corporation (HCSC), the nation’s largest non-investor-owned health insurer and fourth largest insurer overall. Hemingway Hall has received several awards for her leadership in business, including being named one of the “50 Hospital & Healthcare Women Leaders” by Becker’s Hospital Review, one of the “100 Most Powerful People in Healthcare” and “Top 25 Women in Healthcare” in 2009 by Modern Healthcare magazine. She has formerly served as board president of the Caring for Children Foundation of Texas and is currently on the board of directors for the Blue Cross and Blue Shield Association, America’s Health Insurance Plans, the Health Care Leadership Council, MEDecision, Prime Therapeutics and BCS Financial Corporation.

This year marks the 39th anniversary of the YWCA Leader Luncheon. The event has previously recognized more than 200 individuals for their outstanding career, civic and social justice achievements. Individual tickets for the 2011 Leader Luncheon are $300 each. Sponsorship begins at $3,000.
