1. GREAT HOLIDAY CONCERT: Nice job at our holiday concert on Dec. 17th by everyone involved. I continue to receive many compliments on the program that night. Thanks for a job well done!
2. SPRING BAND TRIP PAYMENT #2 DUE JAN. 15TH: Several important reminders for our spring trip to Cleveland (May 28th through 31st, 2010):
· Payment #2 in the amount of $175.00 is due next Friday, Jan. 15th. If you would like to use funds from your student accounts, please use the attached form.
· Room sign-ups will be posted soon……please start thinking about who you would like to room with.
3. OJR BAND FUNDRAISER NIGHT AT FRIENDLY’S: Tuesday, Jan. 12th is OJR BAND night at the Pottstown Friendly’s Restaurant. Between the hours of 4:00pm and 9:00pm our band will receive a percentage of the total sales that night, so bring your families, neighbors, and friends and help us spread the word. Thanks to Mrs. Joanne Czuj for coordinating this fundraiser for the band.
4. DISTRICT BAND: Congratulations to Alexandra Woodward, Kelsey Fries, and Rachel Ficca for being chosen to represent OJR at this year’s district band festival. Everyone is welcome to attend the concert which will be held at Sun Valley High School on Saturday, February 13th.
5. MUSIC PARENT ORGANIZATION PASTA DINNER FUNDRAISER: Mark your calendars now for Friday, March 26th. The MPO will be hosting a pasta dinner fundraiser that night to benefit the band program here. More details will follow…
6. PRIVATE LESSONS: Don’t forget that now is a great time to think about starting private lessons on your instrument. Private lessons absolutely make the difference when it comes to enhancing your musical skill level, qualifying for solos and other opportunities, etc. There are many good teachers in our area to take advantage of. Attached here is a current list of private lesson teachers in our area. Feel free to contact any of them to talk about available options.
