Glenn Rodriguez, M.D. – Chief Medical Officer – Oregon Region

Dr. Rodriguez is Chief Medical Officer – Providence Health System – Oregon Region.

Dr. Rodriguez has direct operational responsibilities for the Oregon Center for Clinical Excellence, which encompasses quality management, medical staff affairs, risk management, graduate medical education, clinical data services and Center for Outcomes Research & Education. He is also accountable for clinical quality improvement and patient safety initiatives for the Oregon region.

Dr. Rodriguez has a passion for quality improvement in health care and has implemented quality improvement initiatives in a variety of settings. His experience include roles as Clinical Director, Crownpoint Service Unit, Navajo Area of the Indian Health Service, Assistant Professor and Associate Residency Director at Oregon Health Sciences University, Medical Director for PacifiCare of Oregon, and his current position at Providence Health System in Oregon as Chief Medical Officer.

Dr. Rodriguez’ interests are the application of complex adaptive system theory and quality improvement principles to reform our health care system. He is involved with the Oregon health policy, serving on the Oregon Patient Safety Council and the Oregon Health Fund Board Quality Subcommittee. He is engaged in physician leadership organizations serving on the Boards of the Oregon Association of Family Physicians, the Medical Society of Metropolitan Portland and the Oregon Medical Association.

A graduate of Stanford University and Case Western Reserve School of Medicine, Dr. Rodriguez is board certified in Family Medicine with a Certificate of Added Qualifications in Geriatrics. Dr. Rodriguez holds an academic appointment as Adjunct Associate Professor of Family Medicine at Oregon Health Sciences University. He is an active family physician at Providence Southeast Family Medicine, a community-oriented, teaching health center associated with the Providence Milwaukie Family Medicine Residency.
