Each year, talented local designers donate their time and talents to create beautiful works of art in the form of trees, wreaths and other items. These elaborate and ornate designs create the magical atmosphere that The Baby Fold’s Festival of Trees is known for. You will become part of a magical community event by donating a designer item to Festival of Trees. Your item will be displayed for four days and viewed by thousands of people from Central Illinois. You can be proud to be an important part of this exciting annual event!

The following is alist of our Designer Information, Policies and Procedures.

General

The Festival Designer Committee and The Baby Fold will be the sole judges of appropriateness

Use your imagination to add value to your items, however, use items related to your theme to increase the value of the tree so they look like they belong to that tree. Themes may cover any holiday or season.

Extra light strings, spotlights, lit candles and living materials are prohibited on all artificial trees, wreaths, or media

Designers must bring their own tools and supplies on Decorating Day

Everything displayed with the auction item must be sold with the auction item

The bid stand may not be decorated

Once delivered to the Interstate Center, all items are considered a donation and become property of the Festival of Trees

Festival of Trees reserves the rights to set item values, angel prices and minimum bids. To help determine these values, please include a fair market dollar amount on your description form. If a value is not on the form, you will be asked for a value at registration.

Please leave your numbered inventory tag attached to your item at all times

To insure the safety of gift certificates and small items of value, please check them in at the registration desk. Copies may be placed on/with the item.

Trees

The Festival will supply trees to you at no charge; 4’ with white lights or 7’ with white lights

7’ trees will only beavailableto decorateat the Interstate Center

If you are providing your own tree, please contact the Designer Committee for special instructions

Total height of the decorated tree including topper cannot exceed 8’- trees taller than 8’ at risk for delivery damage

Trees must be decorated to be viewed on all sides

Remember that trees will be moved multiple times – including onto a delivery truck and to the buyer’s home, so all ornaments must be wired securely to the tree. Ornaments with an inserted or slip-in hanging attachment must be glued where the two pieces meet so the hanger cannot slip out – hot glue guns work well for this.

All trees must have a tree skirt

Please do not remove the special tree bag from beneath the trees

Wreaths, Set-a-Tables, and Other

Designers donating wreaths, mantel pieces, centerpieces, stockings or others will supply all of their own materials

For Table Settings, The Festival of Trees will supply a table made from a round wood circle top, 36” in diameter or a cube 36”x36”.

Each table setting is to be designed to have its own table cloth that accompanies and compliments the settings.
