ADAMA is offering a scholarship to a Longerenong College student who has successfully completed the Certificate IV in Agrciulture course and is entering the Advanced Diploma of Agribusiness Management course under the Rural Production Training Package.
1. Type of Award and Eligibility
One scholarship of $5,000 is available for 2017.
To be eligible, the candidate must be an Australian Citizen or permanent resident and must also undertake the Advanced Diploma of Agribusiness Management at Longerenong College in 2017.
The award of $5,000 will be allocated to the successful candidate to offset fees and charges from the College and will be credited to the successful recipient in two equal instalments during 2017 (February and June).
2. Selection Criteria
The scholarship will be awarded on merit to the successful applicant who:
· has successfully completed the Certificate IV in Agriculture at Longerenong College and shown commitment to the course and
· provides an appropriate response to the written task required as part of the scholarship application process.
NB: Applicants may also be required to attend an interview.
3. How to apply
Complete the attached application form, written task and include an up-to-date resume. Submit to Longerenong College Scholarship Program, 229 Longerenong Road, Longerenong Vic 3401.
The scholarship is subject to the applicant’s commitment to complete the Advanced Diploma of Agribusiness Management in 2017.
The College advises that the successful recipient’s name and photograph may be published in both ADAMA and Longerenong College PR material.

1. Written task (typed)
Word count: Minimum 300 words.
The successful applicant will be required to complete a project during 2017 involving research, investigation and field testing of innovative trap technology that enables monitoing of etiella moth in lentil crops. The succesful applicant will be required to produce a report of the project including recommendations for improved trap design. ADAMA will provide access to technology and a resource to support the successful applicant during the project. It is expected that a thorough literature review will be conducted as part of the project, and the project report will detail assumptions, field testing, new design suggestions and conclusions. The project report will be required to be submitted by Friday, 20 October 2017.
With your application you are required to submit a written plan outlining how you will conduct the project. At a minimum the plan should include a timeline, an outline of the research and field trials required, and an assessment of your current knowledge of pheromone trapping sysems and limitations of that knowledge.
