1 General

1.1 REFERENCES

.1 Ontario Building Code including all amendments up to tender closing date.

1.2 DESCRIPTION OF WORK

.1 Work under this Contract covers includes all work indicated on the drawings and as identified in these specifications.

.2 Work not included in Contract comprises.

.1 There is no work not included in this Contract.

1.3 CODES

.1 Perform work in accordance with Ontario Building Code and any other code of provincial or local application provided that in any case of conflict or discrepancy, the more stringent requirements shall apply.

.2 Meet or exceed requirements of:

.1 contract documents,

.2 specified standards, codes and referenced documents.

1.4 DOCUMENTS REQUIRED

.1 Maintain at job site, one copy each of following:

.1 Contract drawings.

.2 Specifications.

.3 Addenda.

.4 Reviewed shop drawings.

.5 Change orders.

.6 Other modifications to Contract.

.7 Field test reports.

.8 Copy of approved work schedule.

.9 Manufacturers' installation and application instructions.

1.5 PRODUCTS SUPPLIED BY OTHERS

.1 Products supplied by Owner:

.1 Pylon Signs. Note that the foundations and power to the signs is part of this contract.

.2 Shop cranes, crane rails, runway beams, bus bar and controls. Note that power to the cranes is part of this contract.

.3 Shop Air Compressor complete with air dryer and connection fittings. Note that compressed air lines and power to the compressor are part of this contract.

.4 Shop Bulk Oil System complete with hose reels, storage totes, pumps and controls. Note that lines from totes to hose reels is part of this contract.

.5 Power Washer. Note that water, propane and electrical power supplied to the unit are part of this contract.

.6 Security System

.7 Exterior Signage

.8 Network Switches and UPS. Note that the passive infrastructure is provide for these items to connect to.

.9 Telephone system.

.10 AV, TV, Projector and sound equipment.

.2 Contractor's duties:

.1 Receive products and handle at site.

.2 Promptly inspect delivered products, and give report in pdf format to Architect on condition of all items received.

.3 Install, connect and finish products as specified.

.3 Services supplied by Owner:

.1 Building Permits

.2 Development Charges

.3 Hydro Connection Fee

.4 Bell Connection Fee

1.6 PARTIAL OCCUPANCY OR USE

.1 There is no partial occupancy or use.

1.7 COST BREAKDOWN

.1 Before submitting first progress claim submit breakdown of Contract price in detail as directed by Architect and aggregating contract price. After approval by Architect cost breakdown will be used as basis for progress payment.

1.8 MEASUREMENT FOR PAYMENT

.1 Notify Architect one week in advance of submission of application for payment of amounts being claimed to permit required measurements for payment.

1.9 CONTRACTOR'S USE OF SITE

.1 Use of site: exclusive and complete for execution of work.

.2 Obtain and pay for use of additional storage or work areas.

1.10 SETTING OUT OF WORK

.1 Contractor is to set stakes to define location, alignment and elevations of work.

.2 Set grades and lay out work in detail from control points and grades established by Architect.

.3 Assume full responsibility for and execute complete layout of work to locations, lines and elevations indicated.

.4 Provide devices needed to lay out and construct work.

.5 Supply such devices as straight edges and templates required to facilitate inspection of work.

.6 Supply stakes and other survey markers required for laying out work.

1.11 LOCATION OF EQUIPMENT AND FIXTURES

.1 Location of equipment, fixtures and outlets indicated or specified are to be considered as approximate.

.2 Locate equipment, fixtures and distribution systems to provide minimum interference and maximum usable space and in accordance with manufacturer's recommendations for safety, access and maintenance.

.3 Inform Architect of impending installation and obtain his approval for actual location.

.4 Submit field drawings to indicate relative position of various services and equipment when required by Architect.

1.12 CONCEALMENT

.1 Conceal pipes, ducts and wiring in floor, wall and ceiling construction of finished areas except where indicated otherwise.

1.13 ADDITIONAL DRAWINGS

.1 Architect may furnish additional drawings for clarification. These additional drawings have same meaning and intent as if they were included with plans referred to in Contract documents.

1.14 BUILDING SMOKING ENVIRONMENT

.1 Comply with non-smoking restrictions.

1.15 CONSTRUCTION PHOTOGRAPHS

.1 There is no requirement for the taking of construction photographs.
