Americas Tax Awards 2013

September 26th, Essex House Hotel, New York City

International Tax Review is pleased to announce the launch of the Americas Tax Awards 2013.

The awards will celebrate the most innovative tax and transfer pricing advice of 2012/2013 and the firms that offered it. The winners and other nominees will also be presented in the November issue of the magazine. This letter is to invite you to put forward submissions on behalf of your firm, and to explain how this should be done.

Please note that to ensure the firm is aware of our request to submit, we may have sent the awards guidelines and forms to more than one person. We would like you to coordinate the responses from your firm. If you are not the appropriate person, or would prefer us to contact other people, please tell us immediately to ensure that your firm is not omitted.

As explained previously, this year sees the introduction of awards for the most innovative tax transactional work in 10 different industries or areas of tax practice.

If any firm worked on any aspect, on whatever side, of the winning deal in each of these categories, it will win for being part of the transaction.

Submissions

International Tax Review’s team of journalists will undertake detailed research from a variety of sources. Submissions from firms are a vital part of this research. However, International Tax Review will also be consulting both private practice lawyers and in-house tax executives. Final decisions will be made by IFLR and are entirely independent.

The award categories and details of how to submit are listed below. You are invited to make separate submissions for as many of these categories as you wish.

No separate entry is required for the regional awards, except where applicable.

Contact names supplied as part of submissions will not be used for any purposes other than editorial research and will be contacted without reference to the firm supplying the details.

Deadlines

Please send your submissions to by July 9 2013.

Unless told otherwise, we shall use information contained in submissions for World Tax 2014 and World Transfer Pricing 2014 for the purposes of the awards.

However, some categories, such as tax policy, are not covered directly by the directories’ research, so please read this document and consider carefully if you need to submit additional information.

Please remember:

·  The awards cover international tax matters or national advice related to international tax matters.

·  The awards are for innovation and nothing else, not size, profile or speed.

·  We recommend only submitting a maximum of three matters per category, maximum. We only require a brief explanation of why a transaction was innovative. It is therefore possible to be very efficient and concise with submissions.

·  Rather than send lots of forms, you will notice that some of the documents attached are multi-purpose. Please use the attachments as templates for all your submissions.
