Project Organiser/ Design Team Co ordination
Oban Communities Trust have reached an exciting time in the development of The Rockfield Centre and now require further expertise. This post requires a specialist with experience in project development and design team procurement processes. The contracted post is offered on a short term freelance consultancy basis over period of 5 months ( 44 days) at a day rate of £350.
Main purpose of job:
Consult with Board, community and stakeholders to refresh and update Business plan
Establish /co ordinate and manage procurement of design team consultants
Manage and co ordinate the design team in the creation and production of all documentation required for the refurbishment/redevelopment of the project to RIBA stage 2
Responsibilities
Consult with Board, stakeholders and community to refresh and update the Business Plan
Work with the community specialist to continue to engage the community and maintain the project’s visibility
Undertake a number of community consultation events as the project progresses
Advise the Board on the most appropriate procurement mechanisms for procuringappropriatearchitectural, QS and engineering support for the project
Manage the procurement process for a design team to take the refurbishment and redevelopment project to RIBA Stage 2 (or such other stage as determined appropriate by the proposed major funders) – including preparation of brief, tender documentation, interviews and advice on appointment and contracts
Advise the Board on proposed funders for the refurbishment and redevelopment stages and develop a funding strategy for the project
Manage the professional advisers on behalf of the Board up to the end of RIBA Stage 2
Duration of Contract
Contract offered on daily rate of £350 per day. Flexible dates to meet requirement of project with maximum of 44 days offered. Completion of contract April 2016.

Competencies/ Previous experience / Experience of construction project management / heritage construction.
Experience in procurement and management of Design Team Consultants on Heritage/Community projects
Experience in production of detailed business plans
Experience in production of tender documentation and procurement processes Experience in working with community development project delivery
Good understanding of principles of project management / RIBAPlan of Work
Knowledge of grant funding bodies / Good awareness/ knowledge of heritage construction
Good knowledge in business planning
