Board of Directors Meeting

§  Soccer Final registration count is 97, this is a 12 % decrease from 2013.Teams filled at every level. Novice and JV teams will play in a tournament. Varsity Girls team has a chance of being in playoffs at this time. Region 19 meeting in tomorrow evening. Commissioner, John Chiodo would like to offer ABVM as a meeting location for the Region 19 meeting in the future. Our field will also be offered as a playoff field. Snack stand is doing very well. Mike Burkins has been doing a phenomenal job managing the snack stand.

§  Football Season is going very well. Varsity is undefeated and Junior Varsity's record is currently 2-1-1. 46 Varsity players registered and 20 JV players registered. Three teams (Varsity A team and B team) (Junior Varsity team). Representatives from various high schools have come to watch the upcoming athletes play in some games. Kampus Klothes is the online store where VIKINGS apparel can be ordered, the store is open until Friday.
ABVM Football program has already sold over $1,000 worth of merchandise with 20% going to into the ABVM CYO sports program through Kampus Klothes.

§  Cheerleading Going well with 14 girls registered. Dawn Deppi from Eye of The Beholder Photography recently took cheerleading team pictures, as well as individual pictures.

§  Track/Cross-Country Meets continue, every Sunday at Fairmount Park. One athlete this year. Practices are Monday, Weds, and Fridays at Bensalem High School along with St. Ephrem's team.

§  Basketball NEW COMMISSIONER is Todd Otto .Todd has already attended a Region 19 Basketball meeting. Todd also has been meeting with the past commissioner Charlie Curran as he transitions into his new position as ABVM CYO Basketball Commissioner. Todd has been in contact with Paul Zavorski as well, Paul will continue to manage the ABVM CYO PEE-WEE Basketball program. It was decided that the snack stand (gym kitchen-snack shack) will now be utilized at all games, We will need volunteers to make this possible. This will generate additional funds for our sports program and help keep registration fees down. Todd also has outside organizations that may be interested in renting gym space. Discussions were made regarding whether or not teams renting gym space should have access to equipment room and/or score board. All renters will need to sign the lease agreement. Basketball registrations are currently underway for everyone except PEE-WEE, which will be at a later date. Registrations are open through Sunday October12,2014. All teams needs to be turned in to Region 19 by October15,2014. We are in need of a Varsity Girls coach and possibly other coaches. Try-outs and practices will begin after November 1st,2014.

2014 Monte Carlo Night Monte Carlo Night was a great success again this year, with 141 tickets sold. Profits increased from last year. Discussions made on some things we could improve for next year, this includes purchasing ¼ kegs instead of ½ kegs, keeping a better eye on the bar to reduce bottles being opened unnecessarily, possibly hiring a few dealers, keep roulette table money separate,increase Ad sales, have decaffeinated coffee,offer early purchase discount on ticket sales and/or sell bundled tickets with a discount. 50/50 went very well this year. Next year we are looking into a raffle for a paid 2 year lease agreement on a Mercedes Benz car. We may also try to get limo rides included with game packages. Coaches Clearances Nora needs all coaches clearances kept current . Safe Environment information to be added on website with requirements. New Business Discussions on how to use profits from Monte Carlo. It was suggested that we fix back side of field, chop all weeds down and clear area. Also all lights outside need replacement. A railing needs to be placed on wall outside the front of gym. CONSTRUCTION ISSUES The wall/roof in the gym has been leaking and needs immediate repair. We will go to ABVM Parish finance meeting to advise of situation. In the meantime, the board will get estimates on work that needs to be done to present to the finance committee.
