Parent Consultation Evenings

The children have worked really hard this week on their end of term assessments in reading, writing and maths. Class teachers look forward to sharing their progress and next steps in learning with you at the consultation appointments the week after next. The school playground will be open from 4.30pm for parking.

If you have not yet booked an appointment, please call the school office to do so.

Book Fayre next week

We have booked a Book Fayre for next week in the Library area after school from 3.15 – 3.45pm, Monday – Thursday. The school receives a commission of 40% for each book sold, which is put towards buying more books for school.

Borough Chess Tournament

We wish our team of 6 Chess Players good luck as they represent the school in the Annual Borough Chess Tournament held at Lavender School. The standard is always very high as the best players in Enfield come together to test their chess skills out.

Tag Rugby Report

“There were 6 schools at the tournament including us, which was held at Chace Community School. We played 5 matches, won 2, lost 2 and drew 1. It was hard for us as we played very well. All the other schools played their best and every game was tough.” By Samuel G

Christmas Bazaar on Saturday

Thanks to the very hard work at very short notice by the new APF Committee, we have a Christmas Bazaar to look forward to on Saturday. I hope that all our families may have some time to pop in during the day. I look forward to seeing some of you there.

Christmas Post Box

This will be open in the Library area from Monday. Please be sure to put the full name and class of the recipient on the envelope. Children may post their cards before school begins.

RE Week next week

As we move into the period of Advent, we are going to focus a little more on Religious Education next week, including sessions of ‘Godly Play’. Using characters and artefacts, stories from the Bible are shared with the children who then reflect on the message of the story in their own individual way.

Reminders

Nuts - Children must not have peanut butter or nutella, or anything that contains nuts in their packed lunch or snacks.

Absences– if your child is absent from school you should call the school and leave a message before 9.30am. On their return to school you must provide a letter explaining their absence, otherwise this will be marked as an unauthorised absence.

Good Work awards this week

Congratulations go to those children who received Good Work Awards :

Zachary & Cameron, Katie & Michael, Mattie & Daniel, Demi & Fabian, Janice & Aaron, Codi & Eden, Roksolana & Ethan.

Request for Donations

At this time of year many of the children have colds and our tissue supply is depleted. If you could donate a box of tissues we would be very grateful.

Also Mrs Vial’s supply of spare children’s underwear has diminished as items have not been returned. If you have any unwanted children’s underwear, or any unreturned underwear, could you please pass to Mrs Vial. Thank you.

Christmas Celebration at Forty Hall

The Christmas Celebration at the Banqueting Suite will take place on 2nd December at 7.00pm (Doors open at 6.30pm). The School Choir will be taking part in the service. Everyone is welcome.

This week’s Vicar’s Assembly

We continued in our series on Elijah, leading into the role of John the Baptist. We thought about the parents of John the Baptist wanting and praying for a child. When Zachariah went into the temple an angel promised their prayers would be answered and they would have a boy, who would be like Elijah and prepare the way for the Messiah. The reading was Luke 1 :13-17.
