Q.  I hear everyone talking about an on-line TransGroup college they went to. What is TGU?

A. TGU is our company ‘University’ that offers a variety of on-line training opportunities to the employees of TransGroup Worldwide Logistics.

Q.  That sounds great, and my supervisor said I have to take a test that is located at TGU, but how do I enroll at TGU?

A. Getting to TGU is easy by following these simple steps:

1.  Make sure you talk with your supervisor and find out if you have access to TGU. If you don’t, make sure they go through Web Access Set-Up to create your TGU login ID and password.

2.  Once you have your password (this may be different than your other TransGroup passwords), go to TransNet www.transnet.transgroup.com and scroll down to the TGU section in the lower right hand corner. Click the ‘Enter the TGU Campus’ link to display the TGU login box (see below).

3.  Once you have entered your TGU login ID and password into the TGU login box, the TGU main page will open. You are now in TGU, welcome back to school!

▪  From the TGU front page, you can take a course, take a test or attend an online workshop. To do this, all you have to do is click on the course or test you wish to take and follow the instructions. You’ll be able to view test scores and print out certificates when you are done taking tests as well.

Q.  What if I can’t access TransNet? Is there a direct link?

A. You can go directly to TGU by following these simple steps

  1. Log into tgu.transgroup.com from your web browser, or by clicking on this hyperlink (there is also a link to TGU available in TransNet).
  1. Enter your NT authentication user ID, password and domain into the network login box that appears. The ID and password are the same ones used when logging into TransNet or your e-mail, and the domain is Transgroup.

Q.  How can I take a test or a course now that I’m logged in?

A.  Taking a test or a course in TGU is easy following these simple steps:

Step 1: Click on the ‘Take the Course’ link, or the workshop name for the course or workshop that you wish to take.

Step 2: Click the ‘Next’ button to begin the course (see figure below).

Note: For security sensitive courses, such as the IACSSP, the course login box will be displayed, requiring you to enter your student ID number and password before allowing you to continue

Step 3: Once you have successfully logged into the course you can move from one section to the next (or previous) by using the navigation arrows at the bottom of each section, or by clicking on a specific section in the ‘Course Sections’ navigation bar on the left hand side of the screen.

Step 4: At the end of each section you will be given a series of ‘Quiz’ questions. These questions do not constitute the course test and do not count toward the final test’s score. Instead, they are intended to identify material within that section that you may not have fully understood, providing you with the opportunity to review the material prior to continuing with the course.

Step 5: After completing the course, you will be given the opportunity to take the final test at that time, or review and take the test later.

§  If you select the ‘Review and Take Test Later’ option you will be routed to the first page of the course (see step 2), giving you the option to retake or log out of the course.

§  If you select the ‘Take Test Now’ option you will be routed directly to the final test, which consists of 30 questions and requires a minimum passing grade of 80%.

Taking a Test after you have completed a course

Step 1: Select the ‘Take Test Now’ option from the last page of the course, or select the ‘Take Test’ option from the TGU Homeroom.

NOTE: The TGU system will not open a test to a student unless that student has completed each section of the course.

Step 2: Click on the ‘Next’ arrow after answering each question. After answering each question you will be given the status of your answer (right or wrong) along with a statement affirming the correct answer. Click the ‘Next’ arrow to move on to the next question.

Step 3: At the end of the test you will be given your final score and if it is a passing score you will be given the option to print a certificate of completion.

Q.  I can’t remember if I took a certain test or not. Is there anyway to check?

A.  Yes, you can check a “transcript” at anytime by following these simple steps:

Step 1: Click on the ‘View My Transcripts’ link in the Student section of the TGU Home Room page to display a record of the courses taken, including the associated test dates and scores. You will also be able to print your certificates from this view by clicking on the link to ‘Get Certificate’
