Consultancy Corporate Fundraising Specialist - Key Markets Support

Private Sector Fundraising section

1.  Overview

The Private Sector Fundraising (PSFR) section within PFP works with National Committees and UNICEF Country Offices to maximize income and drive income growth. There are five units within the PSFR section. The purpose of the Corporate Fundraising team is to drive income growth from the corporate sector as part of an integrated corporate engagement strategy. Income growth will come from two sources: supporting countries to develop and strengthen their corporate fundraising capacity and skills and through the proactive development of new partnerships by the PFP Corporate Fundraising unit.

This 11.5 month consultancy is established to provide additional income generating support to key market corporate fundraising teams in order to support their income generation efforts.

This assignment requires frequent travel to Geneva, Switzerland and to visit corporate partners within the German speaking markets.

2.  Responsibilities

Under the general guidance of the Corporate Alliances Manager (Global New Business), the incumbent will work closely together with the identified German speaking National Committees to maximize local corporate fundraising. The incumbent will have the following specific responsibilities:

1.  Work with the National Committee Corporate Teams to identify the greatest market opportunities for 2015-2018.

2.  Work with the National Committee Corporate Teams to proactively identify, research and develop multi-million euro new alliances:

·  In consultation with the National Committee Corporate Team Leaders and other stakeholders, identifies new potentially suitable corporate partners and appropriate contact persons within these organisations. Output: Pipeline plus relationship mapping and prospecting approach clarified.

·  Secures first meetings – and ongoing partnership discussions - with senior contacts at prospects.

·  Develops and delivers pitches and proposals for new corporate partners.

·  Secures the support and time of UNICEF and National Committee staff at an appropriately senior level to meet with the identified corporate partners or does so independently on agreement.

·  Leads business development process from prospect identification up to contract signature for assigned prospects.

3.  Reporting

The incumbent will work under the supervision of the Corporate Alliances Manager – Global New Business. The incumbent will provide support and recommendations to the National Committee Corporate Team Leaders.

4.  Qualifications and Experience of Successful Candidate

·  Advanced university degree in Business Management, Communication, Marketing, International Relations, Social Sciences or equivalent professional work experience in Fundraising and/or building public-private partnerships, combined with a university degree in a related field. A first level university degree in combination with qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.

·  Proven experience of developing a new business pipeline and implementing to successful completion.

·  Five years of relevant work experience in either Corporate Fundraising, Marketing and/or in a corporate managerial role engaging with the non-for-profit sector.

·  Excellent writing and editing skills in English and German.

·  Ability to work independently and to meettight deadlines.

·  Strong analytical and conceptual thinking.

·  Knowledge of the European business and CSR environment.

5.  Competencies of Successful Candidate

Besides fluency in written and spoken English, this post requires fluency in written and spoken German.

6.  Deliverables

Deliverables include driving, together with the guidance of the Head of Corporate Fundraising the new business pipeline with specific income targets and pipeline KPIs for consultancy period. The income target is of €2M and existing strong leads will be provided.
