Children At Risk Diversion Positively Cool Program
Good news story
This story is about a young boy by the name of Keanu Mathinus,who was referred to Khulisa by the school Social Worker to attend the Positively Cool life skill program.
I started at St. Albans Primary School and the boys was out of control because of their violent behavior,the teachers has given up on them, as the program went on the changes did not come immediately. The teachers started to question my capability to guide these young boys, but I kept on motivating the boys did the positively cool program with them and one by one they started to develop change they started to attend all their classes. There was one boy by the name of Keanu Mathinus who was still not attending class who still went to the principal’s office because of his behavior one of the teachers came to Keanu and said you will never change this facilitator is wasting her time, on that day Keanu came to me and said teacher I want to change help me and the facilitator and Keanu took it from there, Keanu went to his teachers and apologies and asked for their forgiveness. Keanu Marthinus started to attend all his sessions and stayed out of trouble, but before we had completed the positively cool program one learner went to the principal and complaint about Keanu hitting her and the principal went to Keanu Marthinus knowing that its always he who is making the trouble. Shocking it was for the principal to find out thatthe learner was not Keanu from the Positively Cool group but, another Keanu from school.
The principal talked proudly about Keanu for he can’t believe in a few weeks’ time these boys has given their participation in changing their life,Keanu Marthinus has proof to his teachers that you can change nothing is impossible, some of the boys also stopped using drugs. The school was thankful to KHULISA SOCIAL SOLUTIONS for the positive outcome and wants to make use of our services more.
