We operate over 200 facilities in England, Scotland and Wales and employ around 2,500 employees. We recycle 1.2 million tonnes of waste each year.

Role Purpose

·  To organise effective operational procedures and methods to ensure that contract requirements are met in accordance with the Company policies.

·  To implement the Company's standards of discipline and personnel procedures when a Company Rule is in breach or performance is below standard.

·  To review working practices to ensure and promote efficient cost-effective methods of working.

·  To ensure that work performance of staff and operatives is maintained at the highest possible level and is regularly monitored and reviewed and to take appropriate action if standards fall.

·  To ensure that regulations are implemented and maintained in respect of the Health and Safety at Work Act and other statutory regulations, as applied to work being carried out by the Company.

·  Advise management on staffing level, absenteeism, time keeping and other staff related issues.

·  Prepare and submit management reports daily and weekly summaries.

·  Develop, install and maintain schedules of work, holidays and cover for absenteeism and sickness.

·  Ensure operations are legally compliant and systems and procedures work within the quality and environmental systems in place.

·  Any other duties which may fall in general description of this post.

Key Responsibilities

·  Liaising with representatives of Falkirk Council.

·  Ensure that all drivers’ records are maintained appropriately.

·  To participate in the training of all personnel and ensure that operatives and drivers are sufficiently skilled to fulfil their duties.

·  Carry out vehicle checks on a regular basis.

·  To ensure that all work allocated is completed to an acceptable standard, with regard to time and objectives.

·  To ensure the efficient use of resources with regard to equipment, installations, vehicles, materials and personnel.

Qualifications and Experience (preferred)

·  Supervisory experience an advantage.

Personal Qualities

·  Must be reliable and trustworthy.

·  Be courteous to the public.

·  Ability to use own initiative.

·  Be able to be a leader.

·  Adhere to the company’s health and safety rules.

·  Previous experience is desirable although full training will be given.

·  Knowledge of the area would be advantageous but not essential.

·  Can carry out clear instructions properly.
