Expressions of interest are invited from teachers interested in a career opportunity relieving in the position of Assistant Principal - Student Wellbeing from 26th May until the end of Term 4, 2017 (with the possibility of extension). The position with be located at:

Granville South Public School has a school enrolment of 332 students, which includes 90% English as an Additional Language/Dialect (EAL/D). There are 14 regular classes. The school staff is a mix of experienced and early career teachers, with a variety of strengths and specialisations who work collaboratively to deliver differentiated learning programs. The school is dedicated to providing high quality educational programs with a strong focus on improving Literacy and Numeracy outcomes, further increasing student engagement and strengthening community partnerships. The school is participating in Early Action for Success initiative. The school embeds the Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL) framework across all school systems to enhance academic and social behaviour outcomes for students.

Selection criteria

§  Proven excellence in supporting staff to implement best practice in data-driven, differentiated learning experiences to ensure improvement in all students' outcomes in literacy and numeracy.

§  Knowledge of school planning and evidence-based evaluation using the School Excellence Framework and ability to collaborate with and support staff in this process.

§  Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build strong teams, develop relationships and engage students, staff and parents.

§  The ability to work collaboratively with teachers, parents, professional and external agencies to support the educational and welfare needs of all students and their families in a diverse school community.

§  Knowledge of literacy and numeracy intervention and support strategies to improve outcomes for students with diverse educational needs.

An expression of interest addressing the criteria, of no more than 2 pages in length should be submitted to Karen Macphail, Principal Granville South Public School at by 4:00pm on Friday 12 May 2017.

One of the referees listed must be the applicant’s current principal. Expressions of interest must not exceed two A4 pages and require the signature of the applicant’s current principal or supervisor.
