Call Meeting to Order / Phyllis called the meeting to order at 17:10 / Minutes from the August meeting were approved

Debra Barker / Dalton reported current funds of $17,304.25 / Guided by why: We have pledged to use our funds for education: Dalton reported that we have funds set aside to reimburse members for the Region 6 conference.
Update: Unfortunately after the meeting occurred, the Region 6 conference had to be cancelled due to hurricane Irma.

Kyle Hopper / The survey monkey for education and community service is on the website.
The October 4 meeting will be held atMaggiano’s Buckhead and sponsored by Smith-Nephew. / Guided by why: Many local AACN members do not have access to CCRN/PCCN review courses through their employer.
Action: Roberta and Carolyn are working on putting together a CCRN/PCCN review course which will be offered at a low cost to AACN members.

Maya Jackson / Brandon reported that the updated membership application is now on the website. / Guided by why: It serves our members if we streamline the membership application process
Action: Once we use up the few remaining, vouchers we will not order anymore.
Community Service:

Berta Dantzler / Immacula reported that the next volunteer opportunity is at medshare on Tuesday October 10 from 18:00 to 21:00
This months “clean catch” donations were sent to the Houston food bank to help those affected by hurricane Harvey / Guided by why: Volunteer events have not been well attended.
Action: We will continue to do volunteer events quarterly, but will also sponsor a local charity each month by collecting donations of goods and money at our educational meetings.

Alison Yam / Chad reported that he still does not have access to our Facebook page.
Alison is posting on our Instagram / Guided by why: A robust social media presence will increase awareness of our local chapter
Action: If Chad is unable to gain access to our Facebook page he will have Facebook take that page down and he will create a new one.
