Pre-School Newsletter February 2015

This term we have been busy making new friends..

having fun in the snow…

Exploring…

and celebrating Valentine’s Day.

Next term we will be celebrating Chinese New Year, Mother’s Day and Easter. We will also be learning about ‘caring for others’ to promote friendship, kindness and co-operation.

Progress meetings

These will take place on the mornings of Tuesday3rdand Wednesday 4th March. Please book a time slot with your child’s key person.

Parent helpers

We always welcome parent helpers to join us for a session. Helping out can mean reading a story, helping with art & craft, supervising the garden or just being an extra pair of hands. It is a great way of finding out more about what really goes on at pre-school! Please see the pre-school door for a new ‘sign-up’ sheet.

We are also looking for more ‘regular’ helpers for activities such as cooking.

This term’s ‘most wanted’ list:

We would really appreciate donations of toys that your child may have outgrown such as large plastic vehicles, stacking/nesting toys and ‘feely’ books.

We also need to restock our mud kitchen ready for spring. We welcome old saucepans, colanders, big spoons and bowls. All will be used outdoors so wood, metal and plastic items are great, but no glass or china.

Fundraising

We are now collecting Sainsbury’s Active Kids vouchers which we can exchange for new sports equipment later in the year.

Easy Fundraising– if you buy anything online (Amazon, Argos, Debenhams, ebay, John Lewis, M&S,Next, Sainsbury’s, Ocado and more) please consider registering with Easy Fundraising. Every time you purchase something online via easyfundraising, retailers will make a donation to Southmoor Pre-School. It is a very easy way of raising money for very little effort!

It only takes a minute to register and is simple to use. Please see: for full details.
