GRADES
Grades for co-op will be based on point value. Points are assigned to each activity required of the co-op student.
Points are assigned to documentations required to be completed by students (all documentations required at the beginning of the school year).
Sign-In—50 points—Each student is required to sign in on Wednesday of the school week with the coordinator. Students may sign in at East Campus before lunch or during his/her lunch at the High School in the auditorium. (The coordinator will be in the auditorium during all three lunches on Wednesday. All students are in the main building during his/her lunch). If a student forgets to sign in he/she may sign in any day until the following Tuesday (either by talking to the coordinator or placing a note for the coordinator in the coordinator’s mailbox or on her desk. If the coordinator is not in her office a note may be placed under the door). However any student signing in late will loose 5 pt. Per day he/she signs in late. A student that is absent because of illness may call the coordinator on Wednesday and report he/she is not in attendance today and receive the entire 50 points or sign-in on Thursday and not loose points. However if the student does not call the coordinator or sign in on Thursday he/she will loose 5 points per day up until the following Tuesday. After Tuesday of the following week, if the student has not signed in he/she will receive a 0 as that week’s sign-in grade.
Hours Documentations—100 points—Each student is required to keep documentation of hours worked each month. The completed hours of verification (signed by both student and employer) are due on the first Wednesday following the end of the month (August hours are due on the first Wednesday of September). If school is not in session the documentation is due the following Wednesday. If hour’s verification is turned in late the student will loose 5 points per day turned in late. This documentation is a requirement to receive credit for co-op.
Employer Evaluation—200 points—The employer will complete an evaluation rating the job performance of the student work each nine weeks. The student worker will be allowed to review the employer evaluation. This tool is used to help student works to know the areas of employment they excel in and the areas improvement is needed.
ALL DOCUMENTATION MUST BE TURNED IN TO THE COORDINATOR TO RECEIVE CREDIT. CO-OP DOCUMENTATION MUST BE SUBMITTED TO THE COORDINATOR.
ANY DOCUMENTATION TURNED IN AFTER MIDTERM OF THE FOLLOWING NINE WEEKS WILL RECEIVE 0 CREDIT
