AGENDA
1. Welcome and Roll Call
The Subcommittee Chair will welcome and conduct roll call.
2. 2014 Statewide Training Venue
The subcommittee will discuss the location, dates and development of the budget for the training conference.
3. Training Needs and Speakers
The subcommittee will discuss and possibly decide on types of training needed and speakers such as:
- educational topics, i.e. NAMA representative (Sandy Larson)
- healthy foods
- legislation
- CRA representative on current laws, proposed laws, sanitation, etc.
- labor law
- sales tax
- accounting
4. Breakout Sessions
The subcommittee will discuss and possibly decide whether breakout sessions are needed. For instance,a vendor was disappointed that breakout sessions were not scheduled for last year.
5. Purveyors
The subcommittee will discuss and possibly decide whether the vendors would like to have purveyors bring samples and offer show specials. If so, discuss what items the vendors are most interested in.
6. Motivational Speaker
The subcommittee will discuss and possibly decide on the need for a motivational speaker during the lunch time in the conference. Could that time be used for sharing (i.e., what’s new with each person’s facility, any new products to recommend, etc.).
7. Vendor-Trainers
The subcommittee will discuss certifying Vendor-Trainers pursuant to regulations.
8. Continuing Education Credits for Vendors
The subcommittee will discuss thefeasibility of having a program for earning continuing education credits to encouragevendors to stay up to date with technology and changes in the business climate.
9. Assignments
The subcommittee will discuss and make assignments in specific areas of support for the annual training conference, such as registration, exhibits, catering, hotel setup, etc. The assignments should encourage participation but not overwhelm the members.
10. Next meeting
The subcommittee will discuss and decide on agenda topics, date, and location for next meeting.
