“ANOTHER” BIBLE CORRECTOR Stuck on ANOTHER

An amateur Bible corrector, who is just a beginner at this art, has, with a challenge, called my attention to the two “another’s” in Gal 1:6, 7. He sets his trap, knowing that the Greek has two different underlying words, whereas the English has but one. – Herb Evans

BC: Herb is the semantic meaning of the two "another's" found in Galatians 1 identical to each other? Yes or no? Waiting, Herb. You can look up the "another’s” in Galatians one on your own.”

Evans: Wow! You really do have a problem and a lot of nerve. You cannot understand English any better than you can understand Greek. You dare answer my two pages of detailed info with a one liner question and expect a response. I will say this that the two “another’s" in my KJB English Bible and the YLT literal translation are identical. The two “another’s” are identical in the German Bible. Even the modern ISV and ESV use the term “another” in other places like the KJB does in Gal 1:6, 7. Notice the definitions of ANOTHER:

1. Different and distinct from the one first considered

2. Some other

3. One more

4. Any other

The Greek words for “another” were not always used the same way in the Greek. The very fact that something is “another, some other, one other, and any other,” implies a difference. The perverted gospel here was “another” but not “another” like the unperverted gospel. You need help, Sonny! – Herb Evans

The Greek Words

No where does the KJB translate G2087 as “different” or “difference” (It is the MV's that do). The two Greek words used here per Strong’s Concordance are G2087 and G243 as follows:

G2087 heteros het'-er-os Of uncertain affinity; (an-, the) other or different: - altered, else, next (day), one, (an-) other, some, strange.

G243 allos al'-los A primary word; “else”, that is, different (in many applications): - more, one (another), (an-, some an-) other (-s, -wise).

While indicating another that is different, the KJB never translates the word as such.

The Other Versions

Like so many places in the English Bible, multiple Greek words are rendered as one or two in English and sometimes vice versa. The word “LOVE” is an example of that, which has caused Bible Correctors to error miserably on that account. Often, it is a translators’ choice per the context, and the KJB translators responded accordingly to arrive at proper English diction. Since the rules of Greek or the Greek’s stylistic use of different words does not obligate English to follow suit. Still, Bible Correctors cannot grasp one English word for two different Greek words or vice versa.

Even Young’s Literal translation and the German Bible translate both words “another” without a distinction. So, Bible Correctors, who make a big thing of it, are pathetic. What is more ridiculous is for Bible Correctors to pretend to know more than these older translators/translations, when in reality all the BC’s did is look up the modern versions as follows:

Here the modern bibles do not have any compunction about translating the word as “another” as opposed to “different.”

Conclusion

Beginner Greek Experts and Bible Correctors are not any more consistent than the modern bibles that they advocate and quote from. Pull the string Bible Corrector! What string? The one on your head, you YO YO!
