Updating an operator in Remote Administrator for manually administered exams

When an agency administers tests in-house and does not use the Portal 100 Testing & Certification, a TAC must go in to the Remote Administrator and update user information to reflect the correct certification dates. BCA auditors will verify certification information and dates for operators who have not taken online exams.

From Remote Administrator, select Update existing user and identify the user to be updated.

The following fields should be updated:

Attained Certification Level – update the Attained Certification Level to the appropriate recertification level:

21 – Full Access recertification

31 – Query Only with Criminal History recertification

81 – Query Only with no Criminal History recertification

91 – Query Criminal History only recertification

Certification Expiration Date – enter the date two years from the date the exam was taken successfully. Example, if the exam was taken on 10/25/05, enter 20071025 in this field.

New Certification Level – verify that the level is set to the correct re-certification level. 21 – Full Access recertification

31 – Query Only with Criminal History recertification

81 – Query Only with no Criminal History recertification

91 – Query Criminal History only recertification

New Certification Deadline Date – this date should also be two years from the date the exam was taken successfully and should be the same as the Certification Expiration Date. (Note – if the New Certification exam is not taken by this date, the user will not be able to log into Testing and Certification. The exam must be taken and passed prior to this date).

Last Certification Date – enter the date that the last certification exam was taken successfully. (Note: this date affects a users ability to log into the Portal 100/LEMS. If a user does not take and pass an exam prior to this date, they will not be able to log in.)

Date of Initial Certification – this field may be left blank or a TAC may enter a date in this field if they know the date a user first became certified with the BCA.
