Spelling Notebook

Please record all spelling activities in this notebook. The words assigned are words your child should be able to read and write. Do not bring this notebook back to school. Please contact your teacher if you don’t understand how to do an activity.

Special spelling

Short u: Write 5 more words that have the short u vowel sound

Long i: Write 6 more words that have the long “i” vowel sound Long e: Write 5 more words that have the long e vowel sound

Long a: Write 5 more words that have the long a vowel sound

Digraphs: Write 5 more words with consonant digraphs.

TH Digraph: Write 5 more words that have a th digraph

CH Digraph: Write 5 more words that have the ch digraph

SH Digraph: Write 3 more words that have an sh digraph

Contractions: Write each spelling word once then write the two words it represents. Example: aren’t, are not

Contractions: All of the spelling words are contractions. Write 5 more contractions on your own.
