WASHINGTON COUNTY RAP ADVISORY BOARD

MEETING MINUTES, JULY 18, 2017

ChairmanDick Kohler called the RAP Advisory Board to order at 12:00 PM on Tuesday, July 18, 2017, in theConference Room of the Washington County Administration Building, 197 E. Tabernacle St., St. George, UT. Those in attendancewere:RAP Advisory Board; Dick Kohler, Summer Robertson, Gary Sanders, Marty Tidwell, JJ Abernathy and Robert Schmidt.Others in attendance includedCommissioner Zachary Renstrom, Commissioner Dean Cox, Deputy County Attorney Brian Graf, IT Webmaster Gavin Joaquin,and Deputy County Clerk Cheyenne Bentley.

RAP Advisory Board Member Allison Hunt was excused as she was out of town.

WELCOME:

Chairman Dick Kohler welcomed everyone in attendance and determined a quorum was present for voting on action items.

APPROVAL OF MINUTES: FEBRUARY 7, 2017

Motion:Motion by Martin Tidwellto approve the minutes of February 7, 2017as presented. Motion seconded by JJ Abernathy and carried by a unanimous vote.

WEBSITE UPDATES: GAVIN JOAQUIN

IT Webmaster Gavin Jaoquin explained that the RAP Website will be available on a word press site which will allow an editor to make changes as necessary. The home page will have all the necessary information for applying such as criteria, guidelines, procedures, deadlines, etc.

Chairman Dick Kohler suggested adding a sample budget to the site to show applicants during the upcoming informational sessions. This will allow applicants to see what the Board is looking for when asking for budgets in the application.

Robert Schmidt will be the editor of the Website and will make changes once they are approved through the Board.

COMMISSIONERS

Commissioner Zachary Renstrom thanked the Board members for their dedication to the RAP Tax Advisory Board. Commissioner Renstromreminded the Board to keep the tax payers dollars in mind when making recommendations to ensure that funds are being utilized to the best extent.

INFORMATIONAL SESSION PREPARATION

Chairman Kohler stated that sample budgets will be shown and made available during the informational sessions. The sample budgets will show the difference between overall general budgets and project specific budgets. Sample budgets will be e-mailed to the Board beforehand to ensure that the sample budgets are clear and concise.

SCHEDULING OF INFORMATION SESSION DATES

Two (2) information sessions will be held, the first of which will be on August 15, 2017 at 12:00 PM and the second on September 12, 2017 at 5:00 PM.

The deadline for applications and grant reports was set as September 22, 2017 by 12:00 PM.

Having no other business, the RAP Advisory Board Meeting was adjourned at 1:05 PM.
