Reviewed Minutes from last meeting
New vice-chair, Karen DeGrace, was selected
Nick shared key points from “Ten year Plan” and “Provincial principal meetings”
-Discussed early immersion change
-Look for’s in literacy (9 components)
-Teaching process and learning cycle
-Resiliency
-Leadership in a time of change
Looked and discussed assessment results for Grade 2 Literacy and Grade 6 literacy & numeracy
-Nick explained how screeners work and possible issues that played a part in numeracy scores
-Several questions posed in regards to the questioning style and origin of the Grade 6 assessment
Nick shared feedback from Student Wellness survey on smartboard.
Grit time – staff will be working on zones of regulation and magnets in action during Grit.
Next meeting is Dec 6th and one topic we’ll be discussing is the new report card.

Report cards
Nick discussed and showed new report cards - 1, 2, 3 & 4 point system,deeper level of thinking needed to attain 3+ and 4’s report card key, learning habits coding.
The idea or concern of the vast range of abilities that fall within the 3 was shared as a parent worry.
10 year Plan
Next week all k-2 principals from South and east will be meeting in Saint John
Nick shared areas/topics that will be touched upon
Need a sense of what are targets are
Grade 3 entry point concerns (curriculum, need for assessment for gr. 3 entry point)
Staff changes – the fear of the unknown

Grade 6 assessment results were discussed. Angela Dawson from the “DEC” shared the concerns with the validity of the results due to question style or types
