In The Name of God Amen the twentieth Day of June in the Year

of our Lord One thousand seven Hundred twenty six I William Bradley senr

of Giggleswick in the County of York Yeoman being well Stricken in Years and

Infirm in Body but of perfect Mind and Memory, praised be God For the

Same, And Calling to remembrance the Incertainty of this Life Do make

and Declare this my Last Will and Testament revoking Disanulling

and making void All and Every other Will and Wills whatsoever heretofore

made by Me either by Word or in Writing First I Commit my soul to

Almighty God my Maker trusting through his Mercy and by the Merits

and mediation of Jesus Christ redeemer my sins will be pardoned and my

Body to be decently buried at the Discretion of my Executrix hereafter appointed and

as to the Temporall Affairs which it hath pleased God to bestow upon Me I Give and

Dispose of the same as Followeth First I Give and Devise unto my son William

Bradley his Executors Administrators and Assignes All my Houses and Lands within the

Town and Township of Gigleswick For and during all such Terms and Numbers of

years as shall be unspent and to come therein or in any part thereof at the

time of my Decease He the said William Bradley paying unto my Dear and

Loving Wife Anne Bradley the summ of Ten pounds of clear rent without any

Deduction Yearly and Every Year During her natural Life at two Equal payments

the First to be made at the End of six Months next after my Decease Itm I Give

unto my said Wife Anne the Yearly rent of Land at Settle during her natural

Life and after her decease to my said son William Bradley his Execs Admts and

Assignes Item my will and Mind is that my said wife Anne shall have the

Benefitt and Liberty of the chamber over the Brewhouse and the Chamber next

adjoyning thereto with liberty to lye one cow and Hay For the said cow in the

Building called the Hay house and Liberty to lye Turfe or other Fire Fewell For

her own use with convenient Liberty in the Garden during her natural Life Item I

Give unto Anne my said Wife two pair of Bedstocks Bedding and all Furniture

For two Beds my Chest a Cloth press a Chest of Drawers with Chairs and Furniture

For the said two chambers Itm I Give unto my said Wife All my Linnen one

silver Tankard one silver Cupp or Beaker and two silver spoons Itm I Give

unto my Grand Daughter Anne Bradley one little silver Cupp and two silver spoons

and Lastly I do hereby Nominate and Appoint my said wife Anne sole Executrix

of this my Last Will and Testament hoping she’ll see the same duly Executed

In Witness whereof I have hereunto sett my Hand and seal the Day and year

above written Willm Bradley seald Signd and published by the

above mencioned William Bradley as his Last Will and Testament (the words

Chamber during her natural Life) being First Interlined in the presence of us
