ADDITIONAL SUBMITTAL REQUIREMENTS

A. Notarized letter from property owner giving permission foruse of property (not requiredforConstruction Office/Shed).

B. Proof of sanitary facilities(port-o-letcontract)orletterfromneighboringbusiness, stating that restroom facilities arefor their use, indicating that hours of operation arecompatible (not required for Temporary Storage Facilities).

C. Copy of public liability insurance, plus property damage in amount of$50/100,000minimum coverage(not required for

ConstructionOffice/Shed).

D. Two (2)site plans indicating available parking, existingstructures and location ofequipment, restroom facilities, etc. E. If tent is 2500 sq. ft. and over, plans willneed to be reviewedby Plan Review.If event is located on Captiva, N.

Captiva or Boca Grande beaches between May 1st– October 31stEnvironmental SciencesReviewis required.

F. Two (2)copies of the flameretardant certificates are required for each tent (if applicable).

G. A special events permit may be requiredif projected attendance exceeds 1,000 people per day, if the event is located within a County park/facility or on County property, and/or if alcohol is being sold or consumed within a County park/facilityor on County property.

morethanfivehundred(500)squarefeetbutlessthanonethousand(1000)squarefeet,andalso

one(1)ineachauxiliarytentadjacentthereto.Two(2)classificationtype2Afireextinguisherswill beprovidedforeachtentfrom1000to2500squarefeet.

NOTE:Ataminimum,alltentsdisplayingorsellinganysparklersshallhaveatleast(1)one10LB.

Tentsthatwillbeoccupiedaftersunsetwillhavelightsandemergencylighting. Flameresistancecertificateswillbeonthejobsiteforinspection.

AllotherapplicablerequirementsofN.F.P.A.102willbecompliedwith.

IunderstandthatitistheresponsibilityofthepermitholdertocalltheInspectionsOfficeforinspection requestandtheLocalFireDistricttoreceivefinalfireinspectionpriortousingthetent.

Nopersonmayerect,operate,ormaintainatentorairsupportedstructurecoveringanareainexcessofone hundredtwenty(120)squarefeetwithoutapermit.Tentsusedexclusivelyforcampingareexemptfromtheabove requirement.

PlaceofAssemblage

Aplaceofassemblageincludesanycircus,carnival,tentshow,theater,skatingrink,dancehallorotherplaceof assemblageinorunderwhichpersonsmaygatherforanypurpose.

LocationofTentsandAirSupportedStructures

1)Atentorairsupportedstructuremustbesolocatedfromanypropertylineorpermanentstructuresoastobe readilyaccessiblebyfireequipment.

2)Tentsorairsupportedstructureshavinganareaoffifteenthousand(15,000)sq.ft.ormoremustbelocatednot lessthanfifty(50)feetfromanyothertentorstructureasmeasuredfromthesidewallofthetentunlessjoined togetherbyacorridor.

3)Tentsandairsupportedstructuresmaybejoinedtogetherbymeansofcorridors,butsuchcorridorsmustbe opentothesky.Oneachsideofsuchcorridorandapproximatelyoppositeeachother,theremustbeprovided openingsnotlessthantwelve(12)feetinwidth.Theseopeningsmustbeequippedwithslidingcurtains.

4)Anunobstructedpassagewayorfireroadnotlessthantwelve(12)feetinwidthandfreefromguyropesorother obstructionsmustbemaintainedonallsidesofalltentsorairsupportedstructuresunlessotherwiseapproved

bythefireauthorityhavingjurisdiction.

StructuralStability

Tentsorairsupportedstructuresandtheirappurtenancesmustbeadequatelyroped,bracedandanchoredto

withstandtheelementsofweatheragainstcollapsing.

Flame-RetardantTreatment

Thesidewall,dropsandtopofalltentsandairsupportedstructuresandalldecorationsmustbeofflame-retardant

materialormustbemadefireretardant.

Anaffidavitoraffirmationmustberetainedonthepremisesatwhichthetentorairsupportedstructureislocated, attestingtothefollowinginformationrelativetotheflameretardanttreatmentofthefabrics:

1.Datefabricwaslasttreatedwithflame-retardantsolution.

2.Tradenameorkindofchemicalusedintreatment.

3.Thenameorpersonorfirmtreatingthematerial.

4.Thenameandaddressoftheownersofthetent.

Fire-SafetyStandards

1)Smokingmustnotbepermittedinanytentorairsupportedstructure.Approved“NOSMOKING”signsmustbe

conspicuouslyposted.

2)Nofireworks,openflameorotherdeviceemittingflameorfiremaybeusedinorimmediatelyadjacenttoany

tentorairsupportedstructurewhileopentothepublic.

FireExtinguishersandOtherFire-ProtectionEquipment

Fireextinguishersandotherfireprotectionequipmentmustbeprovidedineverytentorairsupportedstructureas

follows:

1. One2-Atypeextinguishermustbeprovidedineverytentorairsupportedstructurehavingafloorareaof

morethanfivehundred(500)squarefeetbutlessthanonethousand(1000)squarefeetandalsoonein

eachauxiliarytentorairsupportedstructureadjacentthereto.

2. Oneadditional2-Atypeextinguishermustbeprovidedforeachadditionaltwothousand(2000)squarefeet

orfractionthereof.
