GreatBay Babe Ruth Local League Rules

/ Official Babe Ruth League Baseball Rules and Regulations as defined in 2009 rulebook apply unless modified by these local league rules:
/ Each team must submit an official team roster on-line to the Great Bay Babe Ruth League prior to playing first game. Coaches must verify player age eligibility prior to submittal.
All Coaches on the roster must be certified through BabeRuth.org.
/ Extra Hitter: Each teams option at start of game page 20. Treated as any other starter. If injury or ejection occurs and no substitutes exist then extra hitter will be lost. If a team can not field nine players then a forfeit applies.
/ No Curfew: Rule 4 Starting and Ending a Game applies.
/ Umpires must sign home team score book
/ Visiting team has infield last 15 minutes prior to game.
/ 10 run rule 13 prep after regulation game, 12 runs after 3 ½ inning
/ 10 run rule 14/15 after regulation game.
/ Contact Rule page 19 or 62. Will apply to other bases if judged by umpire to be intentionally and maliciously crashing the defensive player.
Contact Rule- If a runner attempting to reach home plate intentionally and maliciously runs into a defensive player in the area of home plate, he will be called out and ejected from the game. The objective of this rule is to penalize the offensive team for crashing the defensive player, rather than trying to reach home plate. Obviously, this is a judgment call.
/ No slashing (swinging away after fake bunt). Penalty; batter is out, all runners return.
/ Home team must call John Goodwin when less that two umpires work game in the 13-15 division only. John will maintain list of missed assignments to be given to President at end of season. Note: some games may have only one umpire assigned John will maintain list of those games.
/ Cancellation policy; must notify John Goodwin 2 hrs prior to game or league responsible for ½ umpire fee. John’s cell phone number 603-475-2861; Home 679-1145. All schedule changes must go through John. mailto:
