Job Description: Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada (AAFC) is seeking motivated and innovative students to work in Canada’s Agriculture and Agri-Food sector.

The student will participate in all aspects of agricultural crop field research, technology transfer and centre maintenance, including:

Duties include:

Seeding, watering and general plant care.

Harvesting

Threshing

Labelling and storing seed

Collecting rust cultures and preparing them for storage.

Inoculating plants with rust cultures.

Field work including weeding, disease rating, and harvesting.

Database management and data entry.

Work location: Morden Research Centre, Morden, Manitoba

Hourly rates of pay: To be determined based on Treasury Board Secretariat Student Rates of Pay.

Duration of employment: Full-time May – August; Part-time throughout the academic year

To be eligible for the Post-secondary Co-op/Internship Programs, you must:

  • Have full-time student status by the academic institution in which you are presently enrolled; and
  • Be enrolled in a PSC approved Co-op/Internship program.
