Falcon Spiked Shoe Club Major Supporter of the

Annual Albertus Auction

FSSC Member Marty Moran is the driving force behind the auction and did another excellent job at the New York Country Club on April 20th. The funds raised this year will go toward a new biology lab as construction is scheduled to begin this summer. The chemistry lab was completed and next up is the physics lab which should cost a lot less than the other two. The FSSC sponsored a table which entitles us to a full page journal ad (attached to the email). The dinner was attended by FSSC Members Coach Howie McNiff, Coach Dave Peterkin, Joe Powers and his wife Kathie Burke and John and Gail McNiff.

Many FFSC members took out full page journal ads. As well as his add FSSC member Mr. Tom Festa donated a beautiful Adirondack Chair set from Fesco Fence http://fescofence.com/ while FSSC member Jerome Kane donated a Broadway ticket gift certificate from his company http://ppc.broadway.com

So I Went for a Run

Spoiler alert: Things got better. When you're a runner, they always do.

I was angry, so I went for a run. And things got better.

I was confused, so I went for a run. And things got better.

I was exhausted, so I went for a run. And things got better.

I was lost, unsure, empty, afraid. Certain that whatever was left of my sanity had snapped, had come untethered and floated away, to a place so high and remote that I would never see it again, and that even if I did, I wouldn't recognize it.

So I went for a run. And things got better.

I felt like things could not possibly get worse, so I went for a run. And things got better.

(Another time, I felt like things could not get much better. I went for a run. Things got much better.)

After enough miles, over enough runs and enough years, I realized: No matter what, no matter when, or where, or why, I can find my shoes and go for a run and things will get better.

And that realization? Just knowing that?

It made things better.

Hope you’re getting out now that the weather has gotten nicer and the daylight is plentiful. And REMEMBER - someone busier than you is running right now!!
