Be Kind All the Time Resource List

What We Did This Month

  • This month, the group showed kindness! We wanted to learn how and why to be kind all the time. We discussed the meaning kindness and how we can show kindness to others. We learned about volunteerism through Volunteering by Amanda Rondeau.
  • After absorbing some definitions and meaning, we put on our thinking caps and filled out “V is for Volunteering” worksheets (Library Lessons download,LibrarySparks April 2015 web resources, Each worksheet focused on a word that goes with volunteering and/or kindness and three reason why. These helped us think of ways we can volunteer our time, talents, and resources. The activity also gave us a bunch of words that describe kindness.
  • Since we came up with words for volunteering, we used some of these words to develop service project plans. This activity was to get the students thinking of ways they can help out and show kindness in their community.
  • Our next activity showed library patrons kindness! We made Library Book Notes ( to place in books around the library. Each student made several notes to distribute and then picked books to put them in.
  • We played a version of Go Fish to help us practice our kindness to others and made kindness cootie catchers to take home (
