Sally Larson Sargent is Senior Vice President and Head of Personal Trust Administration at MB Financial Bank, N.A., headquartered in Rosemont, Illinois. Ms. Sargent manages a team of trust professionals and is responsible for strategic planning, development and delivery of personal trust and administrative services as part of the Wealth Management offering at MB.

Ms. Sargent has over thirty years of experience in trust and estate matters. Before joining MB in March of 2008, Ms. Sargent was Senior Vice President and National Group Executive for Personal Trust with Harris Private Bank, headquartered in Chicago. Earlier in her career, Ms. Sargent practiced law as a trusts and estates attorney at Sonnenschein Nath & Rosenthal (Chicago office) and at Seyfarth, Shaw, Fairweather & Geraldson (Chicago office).

Ms. Sargent earned a bachelor’s degree and graduated summa cum laude from Cornell College in Mt. Vernon, Iowa. She received her Juris Doctorate from the University of Illinois College of Law in Champaign, Illinois.

Ms. Sargent is a member of the Chicago Bar Association, having served as Chair of a division of the CBA Probate Practice Committee, as a member of the CBA Probate Practice Executive and Legislative Committee and as a member of the CBA Trust Law Committee. Ms. Sargent also is a member of the Illinois State Bar Association, where she has served as Chair of its Trusts and Estates Section Council. Ms. Sargent is a member of the Chicago Estate Planning Council and has served on its Executive Board, and also has served as member of the Fiduciary Professions Committee of Trust and Estate, a nationally-known journal of wealth management for estate planning professionals. Ms. Sargent also has served as a member of the American Bankers Association National Trust School Advisory Board, the Professional Advisors Council of Children’s Memorial Foundation in Chicago and the Gift Planning Advisory Committee of the Art Institute of Chicago.

Ms. Sargent is a frequent lecturer and instructor in trusts and estates matters, including presentations for the American Bankers Association, the Fiduciary Risk Management Association, the Illinois Institute for Continuing Legal Education, the Chicago Estate Planning Council, the East Coast Estate Planning Council (West Palm Beach, Florida) and the Arizona State Bar Association. Ms. Sargent is a co-author with Roselyn Friedman of the article “Applying Mediation Strategies to Estates and Trusts”, 10 Trust and Estates 36 (2000).
