Influenza Vaccinations – LAST CHANCE

As the TV and newspaper headlines are full of the news of the high number of flu cases being reported then we would like to remind all those eligible that it is not too late to be vaccinated.

Also a reminder to parents of children aged 2 and 3 years that their children can be given the nasal flu vaccination and this helps to protect relatives by reducing the incidence of flu in the household and school environment.

PLEASE MAKE AN APPOINTMENT WITH ANY OF OUR NURSING TEAM.

RETURNED MEDICATION AND SHARPS BOXES

Following protracted discussions with NHS England we are once again able to take unwanted medications and 1L sharps boxes from patients.

EXTENSION

We have been granted planning permission for the extension to the building and hope that building work will start in April or May. The plans and details are on display in the waiting area and we would welcome your comments.

ONLINE ACCESS

If you would like to make appointments and request repeat prescriptions online then please ask reception for a form to complete and bring a form of photo ID with you (either a driving licence, bus pass or passport). Order your prescription from your warm home rather than coming out in the cold!

APPOINTMENTS AT EVENINGS & WEEKENDS

As is the case in much of the NHS at the moment, we are experiencing high demand for appointments, especially urgent requests, and this is having an effect on the availability of the GPs for routine pre-booked appointments.

As a member practice of the Coventry and Rugby GP Alliance we are able to offer evening and weekend appointments at practices in Rugby and Coventry. These appointments offer an extended choice that many patients may find helpful and can be booked by calling our reception team.

EXEMPTION FROM PRESCRIPTION CHARGES

By regulation if you are exempt from paying prescription charges then our dispensary team should see proof of this on each occasion you collect medication. We would therefore ask that patients begin to bring their Exemption card with them.

If you are not exempt from prescription charges and regularly have 2 or more medications per month then you may find that purchasing a prescription charge pre-payment is more cost-effective. Details at
