Find GUID of Element or Discussion Point
The GUID is a unique number that represents an LCMS element, object, or media object. You will need this number to link to that object.
- Find the object that you want to link to in the center pane (hierarchy). You should look for the element/discussion point that will become the pop-up and select it.
- In the right hand pane, change to General tab
- Click on the Information Icon
- Copy the entire ID (top value)
- This is the value that you will use when you create your link.
Find GUID of Media
A media object is different than a media element. You must find the ID of the media object when linking to media (PDF, PPT, VTT, SRT, etc.). Follow the steps below.
- Change the left pane to “Media Search”
- Search for your media in that form.
- Select your media by left-clicking on it. Then right click it and choose “Properties”
- Click the Information Icon
- Copy the entire ID (top value)
- This is the value that you will use when you create your link.
