Classroom Conduct Contract
2017-2018 School Year
I, ______, promise to conduct myself according to the rules listed below while in all 6th grade classes and in the hallway. I realize that by not following the rules set before me, I will not be able to be successful in class.
Class Rules
- Follow Directions Quickly
- Have 2 or more pencils sharpened before starting my Bell assignments
- Begin my Bell assignments when my pencils are sharpened
- Have notebooks, homework, and Bell assignments ready when class begins
- Have AR book in class…not in my locker or at home
- Raise My Hand for Permission to Speak
- Listen while others are speaking
- Raise my hand to speak and be patient while waiting my turn to be called on
- Use kind words with my teachers, classmates, all adults, and visitors
- Raise My Hand for Permission to Get Out of My Seat
- If I follow direction #1 above, I won’t have to get out of my seat during class to sharpen my pencil. If I don’t follow direction #1, then I MUST raise my hand and get permission before getting out of my seat
- If I have trash to throw away, I can hold it at my desk until restroom break or until class is dismissed

- Keep My Dear Teacher Happy
- When I am doing my very best, my teachers are happy
I understand that breaking these rules will result in:
- Verbal warning
- Behavior Journal and Parent Contact by phone or email
- Guidance Referral
- Conduct Notice
- Discipline Referral
**For extreme circumstances, step 5 will be enforced immediately.
In addition to the above rules, I understand that the following items are NOT allowed in the classroom:
bringing a hat or wearing a hood or hatbrushing/combing my hair or having a hairbrush, comb or hair pick
chewing gumlipstick, lip gloss, fingernail polish, hand lotion, perfumed sprays
BIG coatsbook bags or backpacks of any kind (small or large)
fidget spinners, toys, slime, costume eye glasses, or anything that distracts students and classmates from learning
food or drink of any kind (unless breakfast items) from the school cafeteria
All lunch items brought from home must be kept in a lunch box/container until lunch time in the cafeteria.
Electronic equipment (battery operated or not), portable communication devices, cell phones, smart watches and
CDs should NOT be brought to school or on the bus. These items are subject to confiscation.
Locker Responsibilities: The usage of lockers for students is a privilege. Each student is responsible for keeping his/her
assigned locker clean both inside and outside. Damages caused by misuse will be charged to the responsible student.
Students are cautioned not to keep money or other valuables in their lockers.When students are given the opportunity to go to their lockers, they will be reminded that a maximum of 3 minutes is allowed for each locker visit in the am & pm. Students should use this
time to collect materials for class and not as a time for constant socializing with other peers. If a student is habitually late for class
due to unnecessary socializing at the lockers, consequences willbe administered by the teacher which may include a student’s locker privilege being revoked for a time period.
