July 10, 2014

Dear Friend,

The Anchorage Concert Chorus has been selected as one of four recipient nonprofit organizations for this year’s Mayor’s Charity Ball on Saturday, October 11, 2014. This is a major event on the Anchorage social calendar, as you probably know, and we’re so excited to be a part of it!

As the MCB website states, “The Mayor’s Charity Ball annually raises funds to support local 501(c)3 charitable organizations during a Gala Evening hosted by the Mayor.”

This is a wonderful opportunity for ACC to showcase our organization at this very prestigious annual event. The evening’s activities will include each organization hosting its own silent auction as part of that evening’s events.

I am writing to ask you to consider donating an item to our silent auction. We will have

fewer than 70 items to showcase, and I’m personally committed to seeking local Alaska

art and crafts to present and offer as part of our silent auction.

Part of our participation requirement is that we confirm our silent auction items by September 1, 2014. We would not need to have donations in hand until early October, although if you prefer we can pick them up at an earlier date. All contributions and donations are tax deductible; the Chorus tax ID number is 23-7017298.

The Anchorage Concert Chorus, a vital part of the Anchorage arts community since 1947, is one of the oldest performing arts organizations in the state and is the largest, with approximately 170 singers performing every year. We present at least two concerts per year and participate in community events such as the annual Mayor’s Tree Lighting and producing the annual Messiah.

We also sponsor our annual Vocal Scholarship Competition for high school and college students every May.

I appreciate your support of ACC and am hopeful we can count on your participation in our silent auction. It will be a wonderful evening and opportunity for Anchorage Concert Chorus!

Best wishes,

Lou Ann Hennig
