Statement of evaluation or review of the course must be submitted to the appropriate Dean within 30 days after the special study course has been completed. The course numbers 2255/4455/5555 may be used for courses requested by academic departments to enrich their curriculum or as an opportunity to pilot a new course. With these numbers a specific course may be offered once without submitting it through the formal curriculum review process. Courses proposed must be approved by the department and sent to the Dean, allowing sufficient time for his or her approval. The Provost must give final approval for all 2255, 4455, or 5555 course offerings. The department chairperson has responsibility for ensuring that such courses are included in the Master Schedule once approved. No 2255 or 4455 course should be used to satisfy a General Education Group Requirement, but certain prefix courses will be counted as a General Education Elective.
