Progressive Era Movie Poster

You will be creating a movie poster that illustrates the Progressive Era. You will pick one theme from this unit and create a fictional plot that shows how the Progressives accomplished change in regards to your chosen theme.

Theme Ideas:

·  Four Goals of Progressivism

·  Prohibition

·  The Jungle

·  New Labor Laws

·  Teddy Roosevelt and the Square Deal

·  The Election of 1912

·  Women’s Suffrage

Poster Criteria:

·  Movie Title

o  Needs to be related to chosen theme

o  Large font like a real movie poster

·  Main characters

o  Use notes, textbook, or do online research if needed

o  Minimum varies by theme, but remember to include who is needed. For example, Election of 1912 would include Roosevelt, Taft, and Wilson whereas Teddy Roosevelt and the Square Deal would star Teddy Roosevelt

·  Plot Synopsis

o  This is a one-paragraph summary of the chosen theme and answers the essential questions: Who, What, Where, Why, When, and How

o  Should be written as a movie plot à Gets readers’ attention and makes them want to watch this movie

o  Synopsis can be fictional to relate to the movie poster but needs to show historical understanding of theme

·  Photo

o  At least one photo must be included

o  Look at real movie posters to get an idea of photo layout and text

o  If you photo is your background, text MUST be readable!!!
