Step-by-Step: 2. Install and Configure Horizon Connector 1.5

Prerequisite:

Create a DNS entry for the Horizon Connector

Step 1: upload the Horizon VA, install and configure via Console:

Deploy the OVF file like the Service OVF. Also, change the root password

After the OVF is deployed, select “Configure”

Although 1) Configure Network is displayed in green, you need to configure the network stack

Follow the on screen questions

Go to 3) and import the Service SSL Certificate

Enter the Service’s IP address

Select “Set Timezone” and configure your timezone

Then login and configure a time server: Use the same time server as the one you configured on the Horizon Service-va!

Select Configure again

Go to 4) NTP Status

Force a “Time Sync Now”

Now open a browser and go to the URL of your Connector

Step 2: Configure the Connector via web GUI:

Configure a new password to logon to the Connector

Copy the Activation Code (you saved it to Notepad during the configuration of the Horizon Server)

Fill in your Active Directory server, the OU where your users reside and the account/password of a user who is allowed to connect to AD

When that is successful, you will see the following windows

Join your Horizon Connector to AD

Enable Windows/Kerberos Authentication (needed for ThinApp)

Enter the internal name for the Connector

Enter a name under External Host (internal name is allowed). After that click on Generate new SSL Certificate and copy the SSL Certificate. Paste it in Notepad and save it

Enable windows Applications (when you have a share with ThinApp applications you wish to deploy via Horizon). Enter the UNC path to the share

When the UNC path already has ThinApps, you will see them being uploaded to Horizon

Accept the following defaults. AD users, to be synced with Horizon, need to have a First Name, Last Name, User Name, Email Address and Display Name

Enter multiple DN’s if you have them where users reside. Errors happen when AD users don’t have the User attributes describes above

Add AD Groups to Horizon

Configure Scheduling of AD syncing

An overview of AD users/Groups being synced to(or removed from) Horizon

Setup is complete
