Business Arising
- Vanessa Jarvis advised the full $5,624 Canteen Manager cost donation has been transferred to IPS, in one payment.
- Michael Hayen advised he had spoken with the Kingborough Council about the school crossing. A yellow no parking line along the front of the school is pending.
- The Association noted that the IPSA had written to the Council objecting to the intention of the Council to lease the land at Sherburd Ovalto Optus for the telecommunications tower. The Committee thanked Luke Emeny for his time and legal expertise in drafting this letter.
Emma Brookwell advised that residents had attended a recent meeting of the Council to voice their objection to the tower.
- Order forms for 2017-18 Entertainment Books have gone home to students.
- Fundraising - Disco raised $575.

Canteen report:

Canteen report has been updated to include a breakdown of online v counter sales. The report also now includes a breakdown of wages and electricity expenses on a weekly basis.

The Association discussed the principle of spending money raised by the IPSA in atimely manner so that the families who had contributed to the fundraising were able to benefit from the funds raised.
The Association agreed that a minimum cash balance of $10,000 was sufficient to cover unexpected contingencies and outflows required in advance.

The Association thanked Michael Hayen for his leadership and management of the school as Acting Principalduring Term 1.
The Association raised concerns that the volume of staff movements within the school year were impacting students’ learning.
It was noted that a future area of financial support from the IPSA could focus on the provision of IT resources for students.

Luke Emeny agreed to work with TASSO on the new Constitution for school associations.

General Business:
- Resilience workshops - The Association agreed to fund one workshop for parents run by Lisa Ford.
- Contact details of IPSA members to be compiled into a spreadsheet to enable members to contact each other as required. Contact details not to be circulated.

- Federal Community Volunteers Grant of $2,981.12has been secured by the association to fund electronic equipment and volunteer screening for the school reading program run by Monika Glover. The Association thanked Petra Heil for submitting the application.
- More volunteers are needed for Winterfest. The Association agreed to invite local Parliamentarians to attend the event.
- The Association agreed to fund up to $12,580 for the Indigenous Garden, pending the outcome of two grant applications. The Association requested that Petra check with the designer that the aboriginal community has been consulted on the proposed use of aboriginal symbols in the garden.

- Quiz Night – Jo, Kari, and Sandi Woodward to form Quiz Night Organising Committee. First meeting scheduled for 22May.
- Capital works – to be carried forward pending the outcome of the 2017-18 Tasmanian State Budget.
- Canteen policies – to be carried forward.
- The Association expressed appreciation to Kate Huntington who has agreed to fill the role of Acting Secretary until Danielle Loenneker returns to the position.
- The Association agreed that clarification was required as to whether the Department of Education covers the $18 cost of volunteers obtaining a Working With Children registration for the purpose of working within the school community.
