TOURNAMENT DIVISION Team Captains Will Determine If One Or More Divisions Will Be Used

TOURNAMENT DIVISION – Team Captains will determine if one or more divisions will be used in the tournament. If there are two or more divisions, then last year’s tournament standings may be used to decide how teams are assigned in this year’s event.

In 2006, Team Captains decided to have TWO divisions composed of five teams each. Division 1 was the more competitive division, Division 2 was the more recreational division. Placement in the divisions was based upon 2005 team record. New teams were automatically placed in Division 2.

2007 Proposed Divisions

Option 1: Teams randomly selected into divisions.

When previously done this way, teams were placed in divisions based upon order of submission of registration packets. There are other ways to do this.

Option 2: One competitive division ~ one recreational division / reconfiguration based upon 2006 final standings

A two-division format using 2006 Final Standings Information. New teams would be placed in Division 2, and the division breakpoint would be adjusted to assure that an equal number of teams were assigned to each division.

Option 3: One competitive division ~ one recreational division / reconfiguration of last place / first place finishers only

A two-division format using 2006 Final Standings Information. Last place team of competitive division in 2006 would drop down to recreational league; first place team of recreational division in 2006 would move up to competitive league. New teams would be placed in Division 2, and the division breakpoint would be adjusted to assure that an equal number of teams were assigned to each division.
