Job Title: Team Lead – Business Development (Healthcare)

Reporting to: VP of Business Development

Position Summary

This is a “player/coach” position on a team of 4-6 inside sales professionals. It is estimated that about 75% of time will be spent on sales and new business development and 25% on sales management (once fully trained). This position leads an experienced sales team and provides leadership towards the achievement of revenue goals and growth within our Healthcare BU.

This position is responsible for heavy development of leads, opportunities, and achieving aggressive revenue goals for building sales through calls, email and internet research. Focus on development and expansion within both existing and new business.

Responsibilities

• Helps develop sales strategies that ensure attainment of company sales goals and profitability.
• Responsible for the performance and development of the sales team.
• Prepare action plans to find quality sales leads and prospects and to penetrate new business.
• Key direct contributor of individual sales into net-new Healthcare accounts and customers.
• Conducts one-on-one coaching with sales staff to build effective communication, identify training needs, and provide coaching to improve individual sales performance.
• Monitors individual sales metrics, forecast and analyzes sales team effectiveness.
• Assists sales team in scripting sales calls and presentations, preparing follow-up emails and letters, and developing strategies for effective and appropriate follow-up.
• Help in the recruitment, hiring, training, and evaluation of sales staff
• Insures that the sales team meets or exceeds activity standards for calls, sales presentations, follow-up communication, and sales productivity. Both individually and as a group.
• Sets an example for sales staff in areas of personal character, commitment, individual performance, selling skills, and work ethics.

Qualifications

•Minimum 5 years of sales experience and at least 2-3 years in a position of sales leadership

• Healthcare background or Knowledge of selling services into Healthcare industry a plus

• Knowledge of Market Research or Information services segment a plus

• Demonstrate success in full sales life-cycle management: prospecting, cold calling, negotiation, overcoming objections and closing the deal.

• Ability to perform new business acquisition, pipeline management, and account development

• Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills

• Evidence of a very high level of effectiveness in telephone-based sales

• Thrive in a challenging, fast paced and dynamic environment

• Bachelors degree or equivalent strongly preferred

Compensation and Benefits
