BARNLONGART HOUSE
Standing in an elevated position, in its own beautiful woodland, this 1920s shooting lodge has delightful views to Loch Caolisport and is close to the large sandy beach at the head of the loch.
Families and large parties will enjoy the freedom of the area and the excellent opportunities it offers for the energetic with good walking and cycling paths close to the house. The sandy bay offers safe bathing, canoeing, windsurfing and sea fishing, so make sure you bring your preferred equipment.
The single storey house is spacious and extremely comfortable. It is ideally suited for large family groups of mixed ages as it can accommodate eleven/twelve people in one double bedroom, four twin bedded rooms and one single room (with additional extra pull out bed). There are four bathrooms en-suite (one with shower cabinet and bath), two other bathrooms, a cloakroom with toilet, and a full disabled shower room with toilet and basin for wheelchair use.
There is an attractive and spacious sitting room with a big open fire, a separate large dining room, large kitchen and laundry room with ample washing and drying facilities. Two free standing cookers together provide plenty of room to cater for large groups.
The house has electric radiators and heaters throughout, and all electricity is included in the price. There is ample parking for up to 6 cars. A large garden with sitting area and garden furniture and easy walking access. Dogs are welcome (on assurance of good behaviour) (2 Max)

ORMSARY ESTATE SPORTING:
Ormsary Estate extends to over 7500 hectacres and offers the very best in quality Red Deer and Hind Stalking. Only 2 hours from Glasgow, the Estate rises from the seashore of Loch Coalisport to the central ridge of Knapdale at 560 metres.
Ormsary has some of the most varied habitats on the West Coast; shoreline, native and productive woodland, low ground farmland and open hill create unrivalled variety in sport offering our guests exciting and challenging stalking amidst dramatic and breathtaking scenery, with terrain to suit all needs and abilities.
Red Deer Stag stalking is available in late September and October with the topography making it possible for two rifles to stalk. Poor weather does not necessarily restrict sport as Sika Stags can be stalked in the low ground woods. Woodland High Seats are located throughout the Estate, for use by additional rifles not stalking on any given days. All stalking is accompanied.
An average of 20 red stags are shot each year with up to 6 available each week. Average weights are close to 88 kilos (196lbs) with the biggest animals weighing in at over 127 Kilos (280 lbs).
Excellent hind stalking – red and sika – is also available from November to February. As with Stags two rifles can stalk simultaneously.
The Estate provides the services of a Game Keeper/Stalker, a Landrover during stalking days and a Scot-Track for deer recovery. It is Estate policy to cull stags in accordance with a Deer and Environmental Management Programme, which ensures the Estate maintains and enhances its woodlands whilst providing a good population of quality deer for sport.

When you come to Ormsary you will experience all that a successful week’s stalking has to offer, together with a stunning location and the beauty of unspoilt terrain.
The Estate can cater for both the beginner and experienced stalker. Our resident Game Keeper is an Accredited Witness and can offer tuition and assessment if required, towards attaining a Deer Management Qualification - Level 2.
You will be asked to shoot at a target prior to a day’s stalking to ensure that you are both comfortable with your rifle and that the rifle is accurate.

One week’s accommodation for up to 11/12 guests in Barnlongart Shooting Lodge - self catering basis. [a ‘catered for’ week with the services of a cook/housekeeper can beoffered at extra cost, given sufficient notice.
Stalking
Stalking for up to 3 guns per day (1 stalking high ground, 2 low ground)
Transport between accommodation and shooting areas and on the shoot
Services of an experienced and professional Gamekeeper/Stalker, who will accompany you at all times and who will know where to locate your deer depending upon prevailing conditions.
