ADC/WD News Dardanelle
Pictured above are consumers participating in Game Day and Music Day in Dardanelle. This is a couple of the many special activities they have throughout the year. They are currently doing Communication Scavenger Hunt. The consumers are given request that require them to communicate with others. An example of the request is:find 3 people that have been to another state besides Arkansas. This is an excellent opportunity for them to learn about each other and have fun in the process. For further information about this event or ADC/WD in Dardanelle contact Cindy Hardgrave

From the Directors Chair
On July 22, 2016, there were changes made for individuals with disabilities, who are age 24 or younger. The changes come from the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA). The changes require the individuals to have at least 3 documented unsuccessful work experiences before they can work in a facility, where the individuals are working for subminimum wage, under a 14(c) certificate. Individuals in this age range are still able to attend the Day Program and receive class instructions. These individuals will not be able to work in the Work Development Program. Bost ADC and Work Development are currently in the process of developing a Janitorial Training Program and the opportunity for consumers who complete this program successfully to become part of a janitorial team. Please be watching for information about this program in the coming weeks.
