Dear Members,

Many of you would be aware that the Subiaco Toy Library conducted its AGM recently and as the incoming President I would like to take this opportunity to thank Marianna Winton, Jayu Shah, Amanda Dunlop, Jane Spencer & Trevor Winton for contributing their time and energy over the past few years. At the same time I would like to formally welcome our incoming committee members and look forward to working with them over the next 12 months.

Although a majority of the offices of the toy library were filled at the AGM we will still need a “Memberships Officer” to take over from Kristel in 6 months time, when she will be unable to continue in the role. The Membership Officer is responsible for welcoming new members and provides them with the information they need to access the toys. Any interested members can contact me to discuss further.

Thanks to all those members who provided assistance in completing our annual stock take. It was observed during the stock take that some toys have been returned damaged or without being cleaned. Obviously we would all like our toys to be enjoyed by as many children as possible and this can only be achieved if all of our members do their best to maintain them. Please take a few minutes to clean the toys before returning them for exchange.

Whilst the stocktake can be an arduous task on one day but it is an important one to ensure that our toys are kept clean, organised and safe. The day ran very smoothly, special thanks to Isla and Jane who coordinated the day and ensured things ran to plan.

Attached is the roster for the next few months. For those members who have not provided their phone number (only an email address) please contact the supervisor allocated during your week to confirm you are available for duty. Please note that this year the library will be closed during the Christmas/New Year period for 2 weeks and Australia Day long weekend plus all other public holiday weekends.

The Subiaco Toy Library provides a valuable community service and I know there are many local children who enjoy all that it has to offer! I’m looking forward to seeing all the smiling little faces and appreciative parents throughout the year.
