STEP-BY-STEP Registration Process

1. Visit: http://www.clemson.edu/public/scbg/certificate/ to see course listings, descriptions, dates, and times.

2. To register, go to the Garden Calendar. This will show you a complete calendar of all current offerings through the SC Botanical Garden.

3. Search through the list and choose the Basic Botany class (or any of the other offerings that interest you). Please note that the Botany class is a prerequisite for the other classes and is offered on two separate days: August 29, Saturday or September 9, Wednesday. Select the date that is most convenient for you. The classes are identical and it is a matter of which date suits your schedule.

4. Select the option to Buy Tickets. This will take you to a page that again lists the classes, dates, and times. At the bottom right of that page, a pull-down menu will allow you to choose a class. If two people are signing up together, you may change the “Quantity” to 2 (or more) and then Add to Cart.

5. You will be asked to provide your name and phone number, then press “Continue”.

6. At this point, you may continue shopping and select an additional offering or remove the item from your cart or increase/decrease the quantity, or proceed to Checkout.

7. If you opt to Continue Shopping, adding more selections before checking out, the class offerings page will appear different, but the process will be the same. The page will look like this:

8. You may continue adding or removing items from your cart until you are ready to proceed to checkout.

9. At Checkout, you will be asked to provide your name and contact information and will be able to register an account with CU Marketplace or continue unregistered. Upon completion, another page will appear for payment information and will list all the items in your cart along with the prices.

10. Upon acceptance of your payment information, a new page will present you with a list of your purchases and the option to apply a promotion code for a discount as a Friend of the SC Botanical Garden or member of the SC Native Plant Society. You will be asked to “Submit Order” to confirm your order and your acceptance of the Return Policy Agreement.

You may print a payment confirmation receipt at the conclusion of your purchase, but you will automatically receive a detailed receipt via e-mail.

Q: How do I sign up and pay for more than one class at one time?

A: To register and pay for more than one class at a time, the CU Marketplace will lead you through a process of selecting your class and registering your name for that class. You may then proceed to checkout or may choose the “Continue Shopping” button where you can then select another class, register your name, continue shopping or checkout. When you are finished selecting the class(es) you want to sign up for, choose the “Checkout” button.

Q: How do I indicate my status as a Friend of the SC Botanical garden in order to obtain the 10% discount for each class?

Q: I’m at the final checkout stage, but before I pay, how do I remove one of the classes that I see on my invoice?

A: To remove a selection, click on “My Cart” located on the purple bar near the top of the screen. This will take you to a page listing the items in your cart where you can remove a class by choosing the icon that resembles a wastepaper basket. After making changes, select the “Checkout” button.
