[LG1]Legislative references have been updated (EU and Swiss). Further changes were made to provide better consistency with the EuPIA Guideline for Food Packaging Inks, updated in November 2011.
[LG2]This document has been completely revised to now reflect current EuPIA strategy and practices.
[LG3]A corrigendum is issued to these 2 documents relating to the occurrence of CMR and T,T+ substances in the raw materials used in the manufacture of food packaging inks and varnishes (Footnote 5 of the first, footnote 2 of the latter document)
[LG4]In this July 2012 edition, the photo-initiator with CAS No 0071868-10-5 (Irgacure 907 and analogous) is removed because it falls under the exclusion criteria.
[LG5]Item 8.4 on Statements of Composition is amended to now also cover specific measures under the Framework Regulation (EC) No 1935/2004.
[LG6]This note is intended to help packaging converters and end users assess the compliance of printed packaging using the information provided by the ink supplier. Customers should be referred to this guidance note.
[LG7]This note is intended to assist suppliers of ink raw materials in understanding the need for, and the mechanism for regulatory disclosure to facilitate the communication of relevant information down the supply chain.
[LG8]The EuPIA position was reviewed and confirmed to be current. The document bears the date of review.
[LG9]This leaflet is amended with a reference to the CEPE Code of Practice for Food Contact Coatings which applies to Direct Food Contact Inks and Varnishes as well.
[LG10]The statement was updated to include a reference to the Plastics Regulation and the Annex 6 of the Swiss Ordinance.
[LG11]This very comprehensive document is intended to be used in contacts with raw material suppliers. The information helps the ink manufacturer in assessing compliance of his products with various pieces of legislation.
This questionnaire again is for members’ use only.
[LG12]The update reflects current scientific and political discussions about this complex issue. The statement is for reactive use and will not be distributed pro-actively nor posted on the public EuPIA website.
[LG13]This leaflet is amended with a reference to the CEPE Code of Practice for Food Contact Coatings which applies to Direct Food Contact Inks and Varnishes as well.
[LG14]that ALL substances used or known to be present in food packaging inks and varnishes with the potential to migrate will have to be listed in the “Statement of Composition”. The corresponding model “Statement of Composition” is now available on the Workplace. The internal guidance note will soon be updated incorporating a model substance table (filled example SoC) as an appendix.
