Feast of Christ the King
Mission Statement
We, the Roman Catholic Parish of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton, are an all-embracing, diverse Christian community who warmly welcomes everyone to join us. We draw closer to God and one another through worship, which nourishes us for service to our brothers and sisters. We choose to combine our many gifts to teach, celebrate, evangelize, help those in need and proclaim the Gospel of Jesus in word and deed. Amen.
NOTES FROM FR. ROGER
MENSAJES DE PADRE ROGER
Happy Advent. Next weekend the Church throughout the whole world begins the joyous season of Advent. There are four weeks to this time of spiritual preparation for the celebration of Christmas. Try to spend a moment each day and reflect upon the true and deep meaning of this most holy moment...the remembrance of the birth of Jesus.
Remember that Jesus' birthwas in the land that we now call Holy...the Holy Land. Before, during, and after the birth of Jesus...this land has experienced much turmoil. The Christians there struggle each day for survival. Please pray for them and for all the children of Abraham...Jewish, Christian, and Moslem.
We are happy to welcome our annual visitors who represent many families from Bethlehem. They are offering once again their beautiful and spiritual olive wood hand carved items. Your generous support of this project will help many Christian families provide the necessary items to sustain their children and their families. This is a great way to show support to the Christians living there. Their presence in the Holy Land and in Bethlehem keeps alive an un-broken presence of Christianity since the birth of Jesus.
To our Catechists...thank you for teaching our children the real meaning of Christmas.
Toour Knights of Columbus...thank you for reminding us to "keep Christ in Christmas".
To our parents...thank you for making your home a place for Jesus to be born anew each and every day.
