WELCOME TO HARVEST OF HARMONY 2013

CONTESTANT JUDGING & FRIDAY ACTIVITIES

□  Arrive at COLLEGE PARK(3180 W US Highway 34) no later than 8:30 a.m. Friday, October 4.

□  Business/Professional dress is appropriate for your interview.

□  Judging consists of one 5-minute interview with three judges.

□  Judging is on personal appearance, response to questions, and aspirations.

□  Bring sportswear/casual clothes to change into after lunch for personal safety demos and aerobics.

□  Need formal evening wear (long dress) for the 7:00 p.m. evening program.

□  Bring swimsuit for pool party at the motel, after evening program.

□  Programs with contestant's pictures at registration table are $2.00.

□  Order forms for pageant video/DVD and parade video at registration.

□  Do not charge long distance calls to your motel room.

□  If driving your own car to Grand Island – personal cars may be parked at College Park during Friday’s daytime activities. You will be required to request permission from Pageant Chairperson to drive and park car at Hotel at end of daytime activities. All contestants MUST ride bus back to College Park for the evening Pageant and to Saturday’s Parade staging site.

SATURDAY MORNING PARADE

□  A fall dress, suit, or pantsuit with gloves is suggested.

□  Flat shoes are preferred for riding in the cars. If you do choose to wear high heels we will ask you to take them off when riding in the car.

□  Depending on the weather, a jacket, raincoat and blanket may be appropriate, please bring accordingly.

□  Make arrangements for your luggage to be picked up from the motel.

□  Transportation is provided for the contestants to the parade.

□  You will ride in a convertible ahead of your school’s marching band. Convertibles are provided by the committee; special requests for cars and/or drivers are not accepted.

□  At the end of the parade route, join your band on the bus or meet parents at YMCA.

Please be aware that you are required to stay in Grand Island on Friday night at the assigned motel and in your assigned room, no exceptions. If this is homecoming weekend, you will need to make your decision now as to which event you plan to attend.
