History 144: Second Exam Guidelines
For the second exam you will be responsible for the following chapters in the Bentley/Ziegler textbook:
Ch. 23: The Transformation of Europe (only pp. 512-19)
Ch. 28: Revolutions & National States in the Atlantic World
Ch. 29: The Making of Industrial Society
Ch. 30: The Americas in the Age of Independence
Ch. 31: Societies at Crossroads
Ch. 33: The Building of Global Empires
The exam will consist of:
19 questions based on textbook material
4 questions based on Things Fall Apart
4 questions based on Personalities & Problems (as per syllabus assignments)
28 questions based on class lectures
55 questions total, each worth 2 points, but for a maximum score of 100
That is, 5 answers may be wrong and the maximum score can still be earned.
Each question has 4 possible answers. Answer all questions; leave none blank.
In addition to the names of the people profiled in the Wolf book, there will be questions on the following names & concepts:

No dates to memorize (where necessary, dates are included in stem of question).
Bring half-page-size Scantron; at exam time write on the Scantron whether taking exam A or B or C. Please do not write on any of the exam pages themselves. Use a Scantron that is not bent, folded, or crumbled (otherwise the machine will reject it).
